Forde Abbey 10K 2025
Nestled in the picturesque heart of West Dorset, the Forde Abbey 10k Cross Country race offers an exhilarating journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the region. Set within the stunning grounds of the historic Forde Abbey Estate, participants are treated to an unforgettable experience as they navigate woodlands, meadows, and riverbanks, all while soaking in the natural beauty that surrounds them.
The 10km race route is a true challenge for any runner. It weaves through muddy paths, rocky tracks, and steep hills, offering both an exciting physical challenge and breathtaking views. Runners will encounter diverse terrain, from lush forests and wild meadows to rugged, uneven trails that push their stamina to the limit. But the challenge doesn’t stop there – the course culminates with two river crossings near the end, ensuring that even the final stretch is a test of endurance after more demanding hills. It’s a race that keeps you on your toes, providing a balance of natural beauty and tough terrain that few other race routes can match. The unique setting makes it an incredible way to enjoy a summer evening – the combination of natural surroundings and adrenaline makes this race truly special.
The Forde Abbey 10k race is an exclusive event, with advanced registration required, and the race is limited to only 250 places. This ensures a more intimate and personal experience for each participant, as well as the opportunity to run in a less crowded, more serene environment.
In addition to the main race, there is also a Junior 1500m race, designed for younger runners. The junior race starts promptly at 18:15, and entries will be accepted on the day of the event. To ensure you have plenty of time to register, it is advised to arrive early. This gives the younger athletes a chance to warm up and get ready for their own exciting adventure on the racecourse.
